Coat of Arms
Blue Knights Germany XVIII e.V. Rhein-Main

Coat of Arms

The coat of arms had been designed according to our directions under heraldic aspects by a colleague, who acts as a heraldist in his spare time.

The coat of arms' essential features are the red and white double axle of the city of Mainz, our club's seat, in the coat of arms' bottom. Besides an allusion to our origin, it result in a connection to the bike and it creates the impression, that the blue and white clothed knight, the symbol of the blue knights, uses the double axle to move.

The knight's white shield decorate two blue waved lines, in the heraldry the symbol for rivers. In our case it stands for the rivers Rhine and Main, which we carry in our name.

The two grapes symbolize our chapter's connection to the wine growing areas Rheingau and Rheinhessen, which are our immediate surrounding area.
